Drom Roll......My 365th Blog!

I'm pleased to announce that I've made it to my 365th blog post! I have taken pictures and blogged about them and happenings in my life every single day for the past year, except for maybe three days which I made up by ensuring that I did complete an actual 365 blogs and didn't just stop at my one-year anniversary.

The two pics I chose to highlight from November and December include the pic of our Uhaul from our move, and a pic of Kitty - one of the best things about moving to the city.
I can't believe I actually made it to my 365th blog! Now that I've made my goal, I intend on continuing my blog but most likely at a more moderate rate of a "pic of the week" instead of a "pic of the day". I have to admit when I started out on this journey I didn't realize how difficult it would be to find time some days to blog, or even to find pictures of things to post on my blog. I'm thankful though that I completed my journey and that I have a year's worth of pics and posts to document my life and all the ups, downs and changes that have happened within it. I plan to write a follow-up blog reflecting on the experience. Stay tuned!

1 Day to My 365th Blog

My year-in-review highlight pic today comes from the month of October on the 16th when we went to the Renaissance Festival.

This just in, while I was in the middle of typing the above sentence, my mom called and told me that she fell at work today outside on the ice and broke her wrist! She's being sent to a hand specialist for a surgery consult on Thursday in KC. So glad that we ended up moving to KC.

My original story that I was going to share on today's blog, of the sole of my shoe coming apart and having to be rubber-banded for me to walk around at work, pales in comparison to mom's broken wrist.

2 Days to My 365th Blog

My year-in -review highlight pic on today's countdown comes from the month of September. Who could forget the big mushroom that popped up in the front of our apt. building as the result of days of rain on September 16th?

How the seasons change in such a short period of time. Today (almost 4 months later) we received between 6-8 inches of snow, so of course I had to take a pic and share it. The view is from the balcony of our apt.

3 Days to My 365th Post

My year-in-review pic of the day is a reminder of the hot temperatures we had in August which made the pool right outside our apartment so tempting; and of all the hot air balloons which would float above our apartment complex right over head. I took this pic while standing out on our old apartment balcony in Columbia.

Today Paul and I tried a new church, Redeemer Fellowship, based on a recommendation from The Crossing in Columbia. It turns out that one of our old friends from Columbia who moved to KC about two years ago also goes to Redeemer and came up and talked to us this morning right before the service. How nice to see a familiar face in a new place. As we awoke for church, we were greeted with snow on the ground which apparently is the first wave of snow before we get even heavier snow tomorrow. Hard to imagine that it was ever warm enough for pools and hot air balloons.

4 Days to My 365th Post

The pic I chose for today as part of my year-in-review, is of roses I received from my husband on our 10th wedding anniversary on July 28, 2010.

Today Paul and I were supposed to try out a new deli that others have raved about, however by the time we were able to go it had already closed for the day. Then, Paul came up with the idea of going to Jason's Deli since we found out a few existed in KC. Jason's Deli was a deli I had enjoyed when we lived in Columbus, GA and since there weren't any in Columbia, I had not been to one for over 4.5 years. We Googled the nearest one just to find out after driving there that it had gone out of business, and then GPS'd the next closest one which took us quite a ways out and then it was so tucked behind some businesses we had a hard time finding it once we got to the area. Once in Jason's Deli, there were some things that weren't up to par and disappointed me. So overall it was kind of a let down, but we are going to give the other Jason's Deli in KC a try next time hoping that it will be better.

5 Days to My 365th Blog

My highlight pic from last year that I chose as part of my review is from the weekend trip to the Lake of the Ozarks that Paul and I took in early June. It was the first time we had gotten away for about two years, and I also remember it as being one of the hottest and most humid weekends of June.

It's hard to remember that it was that warm, especially on a day like today when the temps are in the 30s and the wind gusts are so strong you can barely stand up against them. We also have a slight chance of snow this weekend, and a 70% chance of snow on Monday.

6 Days to My 365th Blog

Today's year-in-review highlight pics come from the months of April & May, 2010. April showcases a wedding I photographed and Paul videoed; while May is special because it reminds me of our Memorial Day Weekend day trip to the Botanical Gardens in St. Louis.

I struggled all day at work today with being really tired. Not only has it been hard to get back into a full week of work again, but last night our dinner out and other things kept us up until midnight.

7 Days to My 365th Blog

The pic I chose today as a highlight from my "year in review" of blog pics is a pic I took on March 6, 2010 of the MU Tiger Wheelchair Basketball team.

On a side note, today went by so fast at work as I had many projects and things to do. After work, Paul and I had dinner with a friend from Columbia and her guy friend on the Plaza at a really good BBQ place. It was a fun night! Below is a pic of our friends that I took during tonight's dinner.

8 Days to My 365th Blog

My "year in review" highlight pic tonight is one I took on February 8th last year of the snow out of my office window at work. I not only chose it because of its beauty, but because it makes me reminisce of my old office and life at this time last year. It's kind of funny, because I was able to reconnect with a couple of old colleagues and friends today over email and phone and one remarked how much things have changed in my old work since this time last year.

Tonight was supposed to have been a date-night since we had decided to make Tuesday's date-night, but I ended up having to work over and once I was home I was met with a comedy of errors. The worst being that the dishwasher didn't want to drain and that everything we tried to do fell apart including lighting and keeping the candles lit.

9 Days to My 365th Blog

I wanted to use my last 10 blogs to highlight some of my favorite pics that I have taken throughout the past year before hitting my milestone 365th blog -sort of like a "Year in Review".

So my "pic of the day" is from a collection of ice waterfall photos that I took on January 9th of 2010. It's hard to believe that just six days shy of a year ago it had been so cold for so long that we already had snow and ice everywhere. Also hard to believe that this was along side a stretch of road that I drove by everyday and since moving I will not get to see the beauty of it this winter.

Count Down...10 Days to My 365th Blog

This marks my 355th blog and serves as a reminder that I only have 10 more blogs before I meet my goal of blogging for one year straight! I start my count down today.

On a side note, I am all "footballed" out after the New Year's Day College Bowl games and the last of the regular season NFL football games today.

New Year's Day

On New Year's Day we awoke to an accident Kitty had all over our carpet following what appeared to have been an upset stomach. We're still puzzled as to why Kitty had an accident before he could reach the liter box, and he has acted extra tired all day- sleeping in odd places he normally doesn't sleep. Other than that, it's been football central at our place today with an intermittent nap followed by me having the luxury to spend two hours on Facebook!
